“Delivery Time Unknown”

DELIVERY TIME TOO EMBARRASSING TO SHOW

At 2:15 this afternoon, about 45 minutes after school closed for the snowstorm shortened day, an automated message went out to parents from Mon Schools stating that some students were still in the schools, because apparently there were no buses or drivers to take them home. On Mon Schools’ website, six bus routes were listed as “Delivery time unknown.” In other words, the buses were going to be very, very late.

Are buses female? Why are the buses referred to as “her”? rather than it.

Mon Schools: We build schools in vehicle exhaust!

Mon Schools: Neither safe nor timely!

Mon Schools needs to get its act together: Mon Schools Transportation Director and Mon Schools other top administrators, along with the entire school board, are  failing the students.

UPDATE: No surprise that Mon Schools’ bus change listings are not accurate. Woodburn Elementary’s crossing guard reports in the comments here that one Woodburn Elementary bus was almost TWO HOURS LATE today. The systematic incompetence of Mon Schools’ administration in providing for the students is unacceptable.

I understand that with the roads in the condition they are in that there will be a few delays with early dismissals but lets get real…..bus 111 got to Woodburn first today about 10 min. late…..152 was almost on time but the one that got me was the richwood ave..jerome park..woodland terrace bus…those kids didn’t get on the bus until almost 3:30! There just has to be a better way then having a bus taking kids home on the other side of town then fighting traffic and road conditions to get back to woodburn in a timely manner. This is unfair and unsafe for the poor drivers. These drivers on days like today have to be stressed to the max. These people make sure to get our kids home safe everyday so we as parents need to unite and help them get a better work environment! DRIVERS AND PARENTS UNITE!

And check buses that are not running today…. Board of education are you really not getting this picture????? How many children lose out on education and opportunities…. Obviously there is a crisis and someone needs to be held accountable…. If I am not mistaken these bus drivers have runs that they bid on just like any other job under contract. These drivers seem to be going out of their way and way past their obligations of fulfilling their bus runs…. And they have gone out of their way to double up and get the kids home for a few years now and look what it gets them. Charter bus companies are taking their trips, and who is paying for the expense…you taxpayers…. Kudos bus drivers, you deserve a gold star for helping out the public and most of all the children of Monongalia County Schools, and shame on you board for not listening to your bus drivers. You pushed it under the rug and look what has happened. Children do not have a ride to or from school, which is what the taxpayers pay for….

And one more thing does anyone know what happened to Montgomery Ward…????

    Retaliation or coincidence!!!!!
You ask why bus drivers do not speak up for themselves.
It seems to me the other night at the board meeting a gentlemen spoke eloquently to the board telling the board they have a crisis in transportation. Was it just a coincidence that that same gentleman who is a minister at a church was just told on Monday that there would no longer be a bus to transport his students that attend an after school care at his church, that there would no longer be transportation from Skyview Elementary to his church which is right down the road? So I ask is this retaliation against him for going to a board meeting or is this just a coincidence that a bus does not travel on the river road? I believe they get picked up in the morning at the church but they can not be dropped off?

Again incompentency on how to schedule…. Shame on whoever is involved in not being able to get children to a daycare center where they can be nourished and taken care of instead of going home and being a latchkey child. Again shame on you, board of education, for allowing this Bullying to go on. Maybe who needs to get involved here is the federal government. Is this how you treat people when you get scorned, when people do not believe you? Shame on you. The minister is helping his community only to get slapped. Shame on you for not seeing what this does to the community. Shame on you for not wanting to help. I believe you help Ruby Day care, Pleasant Hill day care, Presbyterian church Boys and Girls Club, the shack, and I could name others but because someone brought something to your attention you hurt the children…. The public can draw their own conclusion and for that gentleman who went before the board you are a much better person for helping out your community, your colleagues and the children!!!!!
